The First Language of Man, known once as the Aith Tirthranyn, is
the ancient tongue of humanity. It was gifted to the Tirthana by
Language at the end of the Age of Creation. As a work of
divinity, it is a sorcery: it is inherently magical, like the Aith, but Language
intentionally hobbled its power. Its magic would be carried only through certain
words and phrases, meaning that spells would have to be learned individually.
Use-language has diverged so far from the First Language that its magic is all
but lost, except by those few who work carefully to remember it.
