Named for Miryr, the Domain of Water, and caes, “hunt,” the Mircasa were
the second of the Three Races: beings to hunt in the water. They
are an aquatic race of serpentine humanoids, rarely seen except by sailors and
travelers across the vast oceans of Elthyra. Their empires beneath
the waves are strongly male-dominated, with diminutive females giving live
birth. Obligate carnivores, they hunt enormous leviathans for food, often
feasting for weeks from the kills of whales or other sea creatures.
