Pain incarnate is goddess of agony. She is the daughter of Violence
and Fear, born of incestuous rape. Before Pain, there was no discomfort
in the world. She was nearly killed in infancy, so horrible was she, but
Fatherhood spared her only for the memory of Death’s
emergence, and for fear of what might follow when she died. With her birth,
Fatherhood decreed that no more gods could ever be born. So
marked the end of the Age of Creation.
