An issanthar is the child of any god and a mortal creature, most usually a
human: the word means, literally, “half-creator,” or demigod. Issanthara inherit
a fraction of their divine parent’s power; though they are of the race of their
mortal parent, they will live longer, be stronger, and achieve greater things
than their kinsmen. The word is sometimes applied to the more thinly blooded
descendants of the gods.
